Tucked away in an attractive (for Croydon) Edwardian side street, the Oval Tavern is a classic neighbourhood local that also happens to be one of London's prime purveyors of live music. And we like both kinds: Blues, and Rhythm 'n' Blues.

Yet: while we may be the jukin'est joint this side of Coahoma County, Mississippi; we ain't Hoochie Coochie Men (and women) all the time. Oh no siree - there is so much more to our 'offer', as they say in MBA land, than that.
An increasing rarity in Croydon, we are an independently managed pub. Not only that, but it's a pub in Croydon with history! It's over 150 years old and still going strong in an world where sterile chain pubs dominate.
As well as a lunchtime menu, we also serve home cooked Sunday Roasts (mmmmm); barbecues throughout the summer (weather permitting) and have a minimum of two guest ales on every month.
